EquiWatch members have the option at any time to decide whether or not they wish to have their names on a list provided to, carefully screened and selected, companies to promote appropriate products and services. Additionally, members may select how they want to be included on this list - by email only or by both email and regular mail. Members may select their personal privacy choice on their profile page within the private area of the EquiWatch web site.
Occasionally, a mailing prepared several months in advance may include a member's name, even after a member has chosen to be removed from our mailing list. As a result, the member may receive mail from one or more of the selected companies for a reasonable time after the request to not be included. We apologize for this inconvenience, and will make sure that future mailings prepared after such a request will reflect a member's choice not to be included in our mailing list.
Other than this occasional use of our mailing list, EquiWatch will not share any information about its' members with any third party, except as may be required by law. Additionally, EquiWatch will only share its' members names and address (mailing and/or email) with a third party. EquiWatch will not share any additional information, including telephone or fax numbers; horse information; contact, farrier or veterinarian information with any company or agency, except as may be required by law.
EquiWatch makes use of a session or temporary cookie for all visitors and members. This cookie is required in order to provide the proper content based on browser type and browser capabilities. A session cookie is only temporary and evaporates from the user's computer when the user closes their browser. EquiWatch does not use a permanent cookie, nor do we store any information locally on a member's computer, unless spcifically asked to by the member to enable automated entry of a member's user name and password during the login process.
EquiWatch uses software to determine the suitability of a member's browser for use with the EquiWatch web site. We do not store this information nor do we obtain any other information from a member's computer system.
EquiWatch does not keep or store any credit card information provided to us by a member. Once a registration or upgrade has been processed, we delete all credit card information (number, expiration date and full name) from our records. Additionally, no EquiWatch employee will ever contact you to request your credit card information, and any such contact should immediately be considered an unauthorized attempt to obtain information, and should not be complied with by the member.
EquiWatch uses several different technologies to maintain only the highest possible security of our member's information. All credit card transactions are completed using VeriSign's SSL technology designed to maintain the greatest possible privacy, and we use several different methods to prevent unauthorized access to our member's data once entered into the system. Additionally, we use multiple methods of data storage and disaster recovery (back-up) to protect against the loss of our member's data.
While we are confident we are doing as much as possible to protect all of our member's information and data, EquiWatch cannot be held liable for possible breaches of our security, and we encourage all member's to familiarize themselves with our User Agreement.
